Yes I'm stranded in a Zombieland located at... my office. Well don't take things seriously by going all Last Stand: making barricades or preparing your survivor kit and running to nearby docks to hop off to another island, because the term 'Zombieland' actually refers to couples of zombie flash games that I've been playing over and over this week (yes you read that right, I play the games at my office to ease the stress after finishing a review of February's budget control progress). I'm soooo entirely captivated with those zombie games that I can't even allocate time to write a proper blog post. Those addictive zombie flash games are listed below:
1) Rebuild and Rebuild 2
If you're a softie that's afraid to confront the maniacal undeads directly, it's better to start your journey into Zombieland by playing Rebuild and its sequel, Rebuild 2. Basically the game is about defending and conquering parts of a town that have been infested by nasty zombies (referred as Zed(s) in game). Since foods are limited, you're expected to turn some suburbs into farm or conquer farm at first turn so you won't die of hunger.
Later you're also expected to recruit survivors that are scattered in parts of town full of zombies to help defend your clear territory and create new chemical composition to prevent your farm from decay or cure 'zombieism' and develop stealth and scouting skills. Beware though, for the hordes will sometimes attack with their full strength before you can collect your food and survivors.
2) Last Stand 2 and Last Stand: Union City
After finishing Rebuild and Rebuild 2 by unlocking two good endings I became bored of the usual conquer games and wanted to put my hands onto a more direct zombie flash game that will pace my adrenaline. Thanks to Google and Armor Games forum, I successfully stumbled into Last Stand series and so far I thoroughly enjoy playing Last Stand 2 and Last Stand: Union City the most. The games are quite tough to finish, what's with crappy weapon during low levels, poor barricades and horde attack in every 90 seconds or so. It's bloody annoying and my character has died multiple times due to unanticipated attacks and ambiguous clues. Not to mention that the ending of Last Stand: Union City is soooo not worth the pain and blood spent to reach the dock and get the boat!
The smooth graphics, nice game play and exceptional plot (leave the ending out of this) triumph every whining though. The cool yet creepy soundtracks also keep my focus on finishing every task efficiently and killing every zombie on sight. Psst, beware of the gore and zombies bringing weapons!
3) Necronator and Necronator II
If you're an Indonesian to the bone, you'll be proud and happy while playing the game. Proud because the game is produced by locals that are united under a company named Toge Productions and happy to play such refreshing, extraordinary game. I dare to say refreshing and extraordinary because instead of playing all victims and survivors like in the usual zombie/undead games, here we play the reverse: we're the undeads intent on spreading the disease to other people! To be honest I didn't like Necronator (the first) at a glance simply because it's still too 'pixelated' and the graphics are quite awry, making the process of reading the title difficult, yet when I noticed that the games adopted Indonesian cities' name as the areas' name (such as 'Serpong', 'Tangerang' and 'Be'esde (BSD)') I began to 'wow' at our local's great ability in creating flash games that was recognized internationally and enjoyed the game more after delving into higher level with tougher opponents and challenges.
