Cheryl Cole's American dream is 'almost impossible'

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

American ambition: Cheryl Cole has been spending a lot of time in Los Angeles while trying to crack the US but her dream might be just a dream according to a PR guru

Cheryl Cole’s dream to carry her success Stateside might be shattered by her family’s criminal history - as well as her own tainted record.

A top Hollywood PR guru has spoken of Cheryl’s ambition and how her brother’s imprisonment and her criminal record might ruin her image in the U.S.

Rob Shutter said: ‘The amount of drama that seems to follow this young lady around could make any career opportunity in America almost impossible.’

Troubled family: Cheryl's half brother Andrew Tweedy (left) is currently in jail and brother Garry (right) has had run ins with the law too

As well as Cheryl’s brother Andrew Tweedy currently being in jail, the singer was found guilty of assault in 2003.

The U.S PR agent, who has looked after Paris Hilton, Naomi Campbell and Jessica Simpson, told Heat magazine: ‘She has shown no remorse over the mistake she has made.

Cheryl's sister: Gillian Tweedy was arrested after brawling with her brother Andrew in 2002 following a binge drinking session

‘If she was already a star in Amercia and we found out all of this troubling information, she might have a chance.

‘But as no one knows her here in the USA , all this drama could define her. You only get to make a first impression once and this isn’t the one you want to make.’

The 27-year-old’s assault charge came shortly after she joined Girls Aloud, when she was found guilty of assaulting toilet attendant Sophie Amogbokpa in Drink nightclub in Surrey.

Found guilty: In 2003 Cheryl Cole was sentenced to pay £500 and complete 120 hours community service after assaulting a toilet attendant

Close to mum: Cheryl's mother Joan supported her during the tough time in 2003 and stood by her daughter

The Newcastle-born singer is currently in Los Angeles trying to crack the U.S market, but is still eagerly awaiting a response over her possible role in their version of X Factor.

Simon Cowell still confirms that the judging panel for US X Factor has not yet been decided, but Cole is apparently having elocution classes just in case.
