Surf's up for Reese Witherspoon as she hits the waves in Hawaii for an energetic boarding session

Reese Witherspoon has always been an active and hands on mother.



So it came as no surprise to see the Oscar winning actress jumping in head first to join her children for a vigorous surfing lesson during the family's Hawaiian getaway this week.



The 35-year-old star appeared perfectly comfortable as she cruised into the shore, displaying her athleticism by standing and balancing like a pro aboard the long surf board.





Easy does it: The actress seems adept on her board managing to keep her balance as she cruised to shore





Fit and healthy: The petite actress appears to have gotten curvier in recent months





The actress may be taking advantage of the children's free time before their imminent return to school.



Following their March wedding this year, Reese and Jim took Ava and Deacon to Belize for a holiday before heading to Europe where they spent some romantic time in Italy and Paris.

After spending time taking instruction from a surf coach, Reese watched as her kids cooled off in the waves and splashed around in the surf.



Just like their famous mother, they both appeared to get the hang of surfing and were enjoying splashing around in the water.



Reese recently talked candidly about her new husband.

'What I’m finding out is that it’s very comfortable to be with somebody who understands my career, but doesn’t do what I do,' she told Glamour magazine in December 2010. 'He’s a great guy. He’s wonderful.



'I’m a very, very optimistic person, and I feel very lucky to have the chance to try again, you know?' she added.



And the actress didn't rule out adding more children to her family.

'Sure, I would love to have more kids,' she told the magazine. 'Kids are the best part of my day. I don’t wake up to make movies. I wake up to hang out with my family.'



Reese has just completed filming This Means War, a romantic comedy co-starring Chris Pine and Tom Hardy about two CIA operatives who fall for the same woman, played by Reese.



The film is likely to be released in February next year.

It has been four months since their lavish wedding but Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth still appear to be very much in the honeymoon phase.

The romantic couple shared an intimate moment yesterday as they arrived at Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris, France, as part of their second honeymoon, kissing and cuddling while they sat in the terminal.

Jim, 40, couldn't keep his hands off his superstar wife and wrapped his arm around her, planting kisses on her head as they waited patiently for their connection.


Reese, 35, and Jim had just flown into Paris on a flight from Los Angeles and despite the long journey, both looked relaxed and comfortable.

The Legally Blonde star looked casual in black leggings, a loose fitting T-shirt, black sweater and a giant black and white checked scarf.

Her blonde hair was pulled back into a low ponytail and she looked fresh faced with no make up.

At one point she freshened up her tired under eyes with an eye balm.

Jim looked equally as relaxed in khaki trousers and a loose fitting blue shirt.

The pair are enjoying some free time together in the City Of Lights as part of their official honeymoon.

After their wedding in April, the couple took Reese's two children, Ava, 11 and Deacon, seven, on a family holiday to Belize.

But since Reese recently completed filming on her latest project This Means War, the pair have more time to take a trip.

The McG directed action film follows two CIA operatives who wage war on each other after they both fall in love with the same woman.

The movie, which is set to be released in January 2012, also stars Tom Hardy and Chris Pine.

After already complaining about getting intimate with Twilight star Robert Pattinson this week, Reese Witherspoon was once again forced to cozy up close to her younger co-star tonight.

The pair shared an uncomfortable cuddle as they posed for pictures on the red-carpet for the premiere of their new film, Water For Elephants, at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.

The awkward embrace comes after the 35-year-old actress revealed that her steamy sex scenes with the 24-year-old were anything but enjoyable.

Reese described her kissing scenes with the Twilight hunk as 'unpleasant'.

Reese, who married talent agent Jim Toth last month, offered her co-star some advice for his future kissing scenes too.

'Bring a Sudafed,' she joked.

Reese could barely force a smile on the arm of Robert, who had his arm wrapped around her waist.

The duo appeared more comfortable when they posed with their co-star Hal Holbrook, who plays the older version of Pattinison's character.

Regardless of their lacklustre chemistry, the two co-stars looked equally elegant for tonight's occasion.

The recently married actress also showed off her wedding band set, which she received from Toth when the pair exchanged vows only weeks before.

While Kristen wasn't on hand to escort him down the red-carpet, the handsome British actor did have his two older sisters, Victoria and Lizzy Pattinson for moral support.
