Growing up fast: Michael Jackson's lanky teens Prince, 14 and Paris, 13 stepped out yesterday for an after-school Starbucks coffee run

Michael Jackson's children are certainly growing up fast.

Prince, 14 and Paris, 13, stepped out yesterday for an after-school Starbucks coffee run.

The lanky teens, both dressed in their school uniforms, looked content as they sipped on their iced-coffees during the warm Californian day.

Both slipped on trendy red trainers, with Paris in Converse and Prince Michael in Nike.

Music fan Prince also kept his iPod on during the whole outing.

Their father was a statuesque 5'10, so it is no surprise that both kids are shooting up fast.

It appears that Michael's children are also eager to follow their father into showbusiness.

Last week they joined young Hollywood stars Willow and Jaden Smith for a power play date.

Prince, Paris, and Blanket, nine, were spotted visiting Will Smith's brood on a film set in Los Angeles.

And according to reports, it was the Jackson children's grandmother Katherine who arranged the meet-up - because she thinks Prince, Paris and Blanket could learn a lot from Jaden and Willow.

The 81-year-old believes the Smith youngsters are prime examples of young success in Hollywood and wants their influence to rub off on her grandchildren, according to TMZ.com.

Willow, 10, and Jaden, 12, are rumoured to be working on a new movie project together.

Of course, both are already famous in their own right - Willow found international stardom with her hit Whip My Hair while her brother recently became the highest paid Hollywood child star after raking in $3m for The Karate Kid.

While the children are not known to have been friends, the children certainly looked to be having fun together as the larked around the set.

The Jackson three were accompanied by their grandmother and guardian, Katherine.

Prince told Good Morning America earlier this year that he was 'looking at a couple of opportunities in show business... mostly producing,' and Paris has expressed an interest in acting.

Their father the King Of Pop died on 25 June 2009 aged 50 and the whole Jackson clan have been mucking in since to make their lives as normal as possible.

And as reported by the Mail Online last week, they also go to afterschool drama class near their LA home.

However, Katherine, 80, and their aunt La Toya, 54, who is closely involved in their upbringing, want them to get an education before any attempt to launch themselves fully into the public eye.

La Toya said in March: ‘They have gone to school and they really like it, so I’m very happy for them. It’s taught them something totally different about people and life.'

She also revealed they recently donated clothes to help Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims.

She added: 'They said they don’t mind doing and giving whatever. It was so sweet. They say, "Can we give our clothes to them?" It’s really sweet.'

Yesterday the Jackson children were seen popping into Starbucks to pick up a iced drink each before heading off to their after-school activities.
